The Cube is an abstract installation based on a 8x8x8 RGB LED matrix which becomes illuminated based on natural mathematical patterns. The Cube is a series of 512 RGB LEDs with multiplexed outputs from an arduino mega. Each LED is individually addressable using arduino software. The Cube itself hangs from 178 white wires suspended from the ceiling where the controller is held. The patterns displayed are derived from complex but natural mathematical derivations. These patterns include the golden ratio, tree fractals, crystal sympathy, chaos patterns, and simple x-1 patterns which simulates the illusion of rain.
